In-Person Practical Course
What will you achieve?
A 4-hour update course in Dry Needling for health care practitioners with at least one introductory level dry needling course.
In this course we will review some of the most current published evidence around dry needling as it relates to patients who have suffered a central nervous system lesion.
We will cover rehabilitation uses for dry needling, particularly in the treatment of hypertonicity.
The course will also have a practical component where participants can practice the techniques covered in the lectures and also have the opportunity to revise areas of their particular interest under supervision.
Included in the content are the treatment of myofascial triggerpoints in patients with hypertonicity in strokes, multiple sclerosis, and TBIs.
Important Note
Proof of previous needling course to be submitted.
What you will learn on this course:
- Upper motor lesions – pathologies incl. CVA, Parkinson’s Disease, TBI
- Lower motor lesions – pathologies incl. Peripheral neuropathies, Nerve lesions
- Common presenting symptoms
- Relating these symptoms to myofascial dysfunction
- Linking the symptoms with Dry Needling as a treatment modality
- Reviewing the published literature on Dry Needling and neurological issues
- Applying Dry Needling in a neurological treatment context
